One of Keys West's Leading
families of Real Estate was born in 1953 when Shirley Papy wed Norman Bell Wood. Shirley's father, Bernie C. Papy
was of Greek descent and came here to Key West via Green Turtle Key in the
Bahamas. He was a charismatic self-made man who went on to serve as one of the
most powerful Deans of the Florida House for 14 terms and helped to shape the
course of Key West history. (President Harry Truman, Mayor Eisner Louis & Bernie

After his marriage to
Shirley, with the backing of his powerful father in law, Norman Wood and a group
of nine partners undertook the mammoth task of renovating Flagler's beautiful
old Casa Marina Hotel , which had fallen into great disrepair. When the
renovation was complete, Norman turned his attention to his next project...the
Key West Golf Course and in 1981, his son, Norman Wood, Jr., joined him.

In 1984, Norman Wood Jr.,
took the helm of the family real estate
company, Resort Realty &
Appraisals . One of the few fifth
generations "Conchs ," Norman Wood, Jr., has a heartfelt and abiding
respect for his family's legacy and revels in the rich history of the
island. His Real Estate Company is a small office known for its
extraordinary honesty and commitment to Key West neighborhoods.
